Jack Lowden joins Tom Hardy in Al Capone biopic

Rising British actor Jack Lowden is reuniting with his Dunkirk co-star Tom Hardy for a forthcoming Al Capone biopic.
Hardy will portray the ruthless Chicago mob boss and bootlegger in Fonzo, written and directed by Josh Trank, who was in charge of the 2015 Fantastic Four remake.
The movie will follow a 47-year-old Capone as he is plagued by dementia following a decade of imprisonment.
Linda Cardellini recently signed on to play Hardy’s onscreen wife, Mae, while Kyle MacLachlan and Matt Dillon also joined the project earlier this month (Mar18), and now Lowden has been added to the cast as an FBI agent, reports Deadline.com.
Fonzo is set to shoot in New Orleans, Louisiana next month (Apr18).
Lowden has taken a liking to films based on real life characters – he portrayed The Smiths frontman Morrissey in England Is Mine last year (17), and will feature opposite Saoirse Ronan in the upcoming Mary Queen of Scots.
