James Gandolfini Turns His Back on Tough Guy Roles

The Sopranos star James Gandolfini is planning to hang up his image as a tough guy when he walks away from the hit mobster show to concentrate on playing more sensitive roles.

The actor, who plays mob boss Tony Soprano in the series, has started thinking about life after The Sopranos and is planning to play iconic writer Ernest Hemingway in an upcoming biopic.

He says, “There’s a few things I’m talking about a little but I’m not very good at the multi-tasking thing, but the thing with Hemingway, I’m trying to figure something out with that.”

“I’m too tired to be a tough guy or any of that stuff anymore. We pretty much used all that up on this show. There’s nowhere to go with the tough guy role.”
