Biography

James Griffith was a big screen film actor known for powerful performances. Griffith began his acting career appearing in various films, such as "Blonde Ice" (1948), "The Cariboo Trail" (1950) and "The Breaking Point" (1950) with John Garfield. He also appeared in the Dan Duryea biopic "Al Jennings of Oklahoma" (1951), the action flick "Red Skies of Montana" (1952) with Richard Widmark and the Sterling Hayden western "Kansas Pacific" (1953). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the fifties and the sixties, appearing in the thriller "The Vampire" (1957) with John Beal, the western "The Guns of Fort Petticoat" (1957) with Audie Murphy and the Howard Keel dramatic adaptation "The Big Fisherman" (1959). He also appeared in "The Amazing Transparent Man" (1960). Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in the Joe Don Baker crime flick "Speedtrap" (1977). He also was featured in the TV movies "Babe" (1975-76) and "Law of the Land" (1975-76). Griffith also contributed music to "Epic Movie" (2007) with Kal Penn. Griffith also worked on "Hayley's Comment."
