Jared Leto: ‘A love child would be an incredible surprise’

Jared Leto wouldn’t be too surprised if a love child turned up at one of his band’s concerts.
The 44-year-old is one of Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors after having failed to make romances with actresses Cameron Diaz and Scarlett Johansson official, and the Oscar winning actor and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman is still enjoying the single life.
While Jared isn’t in a rush to get married or start a family, he tells Rolling Stone magazine he would be quite entertained by the notion of a love child he has yet to discover.
“Someone could always come up to a show and give me a little surprise visit,” he said. “In a way, that would be kind of f**king beautiful. What an incredible surprise that would be!”
Jared has been so busy with his two highly successful careers as a movie actor and rock star he doesn’t really have time for a relationship, but he admits if he did get serious with a woman, the media wouldn’t necessarily know about it.
“Even if I was in a relationship or maybe if I was having kids, I don’t know if I would share that information publicly,” he said.
And he admits women remain an enigma to him, adding, “You know what I’ve learned about women? I know absolutely nothing about women.”
One thing Jared does know a thing or two about though, is acting, having been in the business since the age of 23, when he starred in hit 90s TV show My So Called Life.
While the show has achieved an iconic status, Jared is still perplexed by how many people associate him with it.
“I feel like it was such a short period of my life,” he explains. “Let’s face it, I barely spoke! I have a lot of gratitude for starting there, but they made such a big deal of the character in the show. I think for some people, especially girls at that time, it mirrored something in their lives. I don’t know. It did make an impact for people, but it’s always been so imbalanced with what the experience was for me in my own life.”
