The former A Different World star claims she has not received the court-ordered monthly payments of $1,469 (£918) from Terrence Duckett since May, 2010, and she has asked a Los Angeles judge to hold him in contempt of court.
Guy is seeking permission to have his wages garnished until he repays the debt or have him jailed for failing to honour the legal agreement.
Her lawyer, Lisa West, tells TMZ.com, “Both parents have the financial responsibility of rearing a child. Jasmine has always met and will continue to meet her financial responsibility. She, however unfortunately, finds herself in the same position as are many single mothers in this country – she must enforce her child’s right to benefit from the financial assets of both parents.”
Guy split from Duckett in 2008 after almost 10 years of marriage. They share a daughter, Imai, who was born in 1999.
