Over the weekend, photos surfaced on the Internet of the 35-year-old musician getting awfully close with someone who wasn’t his wife Jessica Ussery. (The pair, who have been married since 2001, have two children together).
TMZ claims that the grainy blonde Aldean is getting cozy with is
American Idol alum
Brittany Kerr. On Sunday Aldean opted to ignore Shaggy’s advice and took to his Facebook page to address the scandal head-on.
“Hey Guys — I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip web sites,” Aldean he wrote, adding, “The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
While the country crooner’s admission was plenty sufficient in the apology department, why not say it the best way he knows how? Through song! We’ve compiled some of Aldean’s own lyrics and crafted a country song about cheatin’ hearts and feelin’ sad. (Is there any other kind?) Check out Aldean’s “new” apology here called “I Believe in Ghosts Even If I Wanted To I Break Everything I Touch Why? It Ain’t Easy A Grown Woman Asphalt Cowboy Lonesome USA.” (Top that,
Fiona!)
“Well, I’m haunted by a memory
That won’t leave or let me go
Man I’ve tried to kill the pain by shooting whiskey through my brain

But it never works it only makes it worse
I’m on the brink/ I can barely think
With all of these thoughts runnin’ through my head
Wonderin’ if I did you wrong?
I could make some excuses, but darlin’ the truth is
I’m just the reckless kind

It’s 3 AM and I finally say
I’m sorry for acting that way
I didn’t really mean to make you cry
Don’t know why I do the things I do
Must be I love to light the fuse
You’re supposed to treat your lover

At least as good as your neighbor
Pay no mind to my lonely heart
I just ride, ride.
Lonesome USA, population one since yesterday.”
