Javier Bardem and Dev Patel team up for Ermenegildo Zegna spring campaign

Javier Bardem and Dev Patel have been recruited as brand ambassadors for Ermenegildo Zegna’s Defining Moments spring campaign.
The Hollywood stars will be part of the third chapter of Zegna’s Defining Moments project, which was fronted by actors Robert De Niro and McCaul Lombardi when it launched last year (17).
This will be the first time that No Country for Old Men actor Javier and 27-year-old Dev, best known for his breakout role in Slumdog Millionaire, work together.
“The project starts from the values of the brand and looks to the future, speaking to the cluster of friends, clients, and ambassadors that have a tie to the brand beyond the product,” artistic director Alessandro Sartori explained to WWD of the marketing imagery.
Photos from the spring campaign will be teased on Zegna’s official Instagram account through a playful series of stories.
The Italian luxury brand’s latest announcement follows the recent unveiling of its very first beachwear collection, which was released in Australia last year (Dec17) with plans to take the 67-piece menswear line global later in 2018.
“In my new vision of the Ermenegildo style, I could not think about the perfect wardrobe without a beachwear collection, where the research in innovative materials like Microlite or ultralight seersucker meets the new Zegna aesthetic,” Sartori told WWD.
Last December also saw the launch of the label’s new red carpet couture collection, consisting of 30 new ensembles for male stars including options such as slim trousers, a blouson jacket, and tuxedo stripe pants.
“Men today are much more open to different styling (ideas),” the designer told The Hollywood Reporter. “Rather than making people wear crazy colours, I want to create a new generation of garments, mixing tailoring and sportswear in evening fabrics. I don’t want to go strange, I want to go chic.”
