Biography

Jean Rouverol was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Rouverol began his acting career appearing in various films, such as the W C Fields comedy "It's a Gift" (1934), "Bar 20 Rides Again" (1935) and the Claudette Colbert drama "Private Worlds" (1935). He also appeared in "Fatal Lady" (1936). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the dramatic adaptation "Stage Door" (1937) with Katharine Hepburn, "Annabel Takes a Tour" (1938) with Jack Oakie and "The Law West of Tombstone" (1938) with Harry Carey. During the latter part of his career, Rouverol wrote "The First Time" (1952), the drama "A Face in the Rain" (1963) with Rory Calhoun and the Kim Novak drama "The Legend of Lylah Clare" (1968). Most recently, Rouverol appeared on the documentary "Trumbo" (2008) with Joan Allen.
