Jim Ed Brown reunites with sisters on new album

Veteran country singer Jim Ed Brown has reunited with his sisters for a track on his first solo album in nearly 30 years. The Grand Ole Opry member, 80, released his new record, In Style Again, on Tuesday (20Jan15), and it features siblings Maxine and Bonnie on the track When the Sun Says Hello to the Mountain.
The Browns enjoyed chart success in the 1950s and 1960s, and brother Jim tells Billboard.com that the studio get together was so easy: “I loved it. It was so much fun. For so many years, growing up and singing together, then recording together, you love and get used to that harmony – which is still the same… It was just automatic with them. It’s amazing to listen to that harmony again. I think the sound of it blends right in with everything that the Browns ever did. That harmony is there. You can’t mistake it.”
Brown also recruited his frequent collaborator Helen Cornelius and acclaimed producer Bobby Bare for the new album.
Brown’s new album release comes months after he revealed he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
