Biography

Hardworking character actor Jimmy Palumbo played more than his share of Tri-State area police officers, bartenders and other working class Joes on a slew of television and film appearances that included the comedies "Beer League" (2006), and "The Family" (2013). The New Jersey native son began in sketch and improv comedy, often with volatile stand-up and radio talent Artie Lange, his co-star and co-producer on "Gameday" (2001), a short which begat "Beer League." Though largely anonymous to all but the most eagle-eyed student of supporting players, Palumbo managed to amass an impressive c.v. of appearances in such top shows as "Friends" (NBC, 1994-2004), "30 Rock" (NBC, 2006-2013) and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (HBO, 2000- ), which tapped him to lend a degree of Garden State verisimilitude to their efforts. His persistence appeared to pay off in 2013 with a major supporting role in Luc Besson's "The Family," which put Palumbo on the screen opposite Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones, while underscoring his regular guy dependability and presence.
