Biography

At the tender age of 14, Joan Freeman began her career as an actress. In the early stages of her career, Freeman acted in comedies like "Teenage Rebel" (1956), "The Remarkable Mr. Pennypacker" (1959) with Clifton Webb and "Come September" (1961) starring Rock Hudson. She also appeared in "Panic in Year Zero" (1962) with Ray Milland and Jean Hagen. Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like "Tower of London" (1962), "The Three Stooges Go Around the World in a Daze" (1963) with Moe Howard and the Elvis Presley musical "Roustabout" (1964). She also appeared in the comedy "The Reluctant Astronaut" (1967) with Don Knotts and the dramedy "The Fastest Guitar Alive" (1968) with Roy Orbison. She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "The Outer Limits" (1963-65). In the seventies through the eighties, Freeman lent her talents to projects like "Code R" (CBS, 1976-77), "Deathmoon" (CBS, 1977-78), "Walter Cronkite's Universe" (CBS, 1979-1982), "Friday the 13th - The Final Chapter" (1984), "Streetwalkin'" with Melissa Leo (1985) and "Satisfaction" (1988) starring Justine Bateman. Freeman last acted on "The Commish" (1991-95).
