Joe Lazarov may have graduated from Boston University with a degree in economics, but his passion was always for film and television. After college Lazarov spent a grueling six months working for his family's real estate business in Memphis, Tennessee, before packing up everything he owned and moving to Los Angeles. There he booked a gig working as a production assistant on an Acura car commercial. Lazarov continued to work on the production end of a number of commercials, building a vast Rolodex of industry contacts along the way, before landing a position as an associate producer on the comedy/drama series "Northern Exposure." Lazarov worked on the show for nearly its entire five-year run, from 1991 to 1995. The experience he gained from working on the critically acclaimed "Northern Exposure" proved to be influential in Lazarov's career. He has since gone on to produce some of the most celebrated programs on television, including "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Psych," and "Gossip Girl."
