Biography

Raised in the Boston area, comic and actor Joe Rogan had achieved a degree of fame in Massachusetts as a four-time tae kwon do state champion before he pursued a show business career. Rogan caught the attention of casting directors and landed his first regular berth on a series. In the short-lived Fox sitcom "Hardball" (1994), he portrayed a tactless, highly-paid, young baseball player. "Stand-up comedy is the best job in the world. I can speak my mind, let off steam and get paid for it...My act could be classified as 'unedited,' but I try to keep my audience in mind while focusing on the truth. I never want to compromise my act just to get a laugh." – Rogan quoted in press information for "NewsRadio," 1995
