Biography

John Indrisano worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. In his early acting career, Indrisano appeared in such films as "Every Day's a Holiday" (1938), the Leo Gorcey comedy "In Fast Company" (1946) and the Leo Gorcey comedy "Mr. Hex" (1946). He also appeared in the sports "Body and Soul" (1947) with John Garfield, "Force of Evil" (1948) and the drama "The Lady Gambles" (1949) with Barbara Stanwyck. His film career continued throughout the fifties in productions like "The Sea Chase" (1955) with John Wayne, the Brian Keith crime feature "Chicago Confidential" (1957) and the musical "Jailhouse Rock" (1957) with Elvis Presley. He also appeared in "Ten North Frederick" (1958) with Gary Cooper. Toward the end of his career, he continued to act in "For Love or Money" (1963), the Jack Lemmon comedic adaptation "Under the Yum Yum Tree" (1963) and the dramatic adaptation "A House Is Not a Home" (1964) with Shelley Winters. He also appeared in "Barefoot in the Park" (1967) with Robert Redford. Indrisano last appeared in "The Smugglers" (1968-69).
