John Lehr worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Lehr kickstarted his acting career appearing on various television sitcoms, including "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" (1993-97), "Friends" (1994-2004) and "Jesse" (1998-2000). He also appeared in the TV movie "Since You've Been Gone" (1997-98). He also landed roles in movies like the dramedy "Kicking and Screaming" (1995) with Josh Hamilton. He continued to work steadily in sitcoms throughout the nineties and the early 2000s, appearing on "Once and Again" (1999-2002) and "Oliver Beene" (2002-04). He appeared in the comedy "Mr. Jealousy" (1998) with Eric Stoltz, "Highball" (2000) with Eric Stoltz and the Cameron Diaz dramatic comedy "The Sweetest Thing" (2002) in the nineties and the early 2000s. He also played parts in television during these years, including roles in "Once and Again" (1999-2002) and "Oliver Beene" (2002-04). In his more recent career, he tackled roles on "10 Items Or Less" (2006-09) and "Cavemen" (2007-08). He also appeared as herself in the Nancy Hower comedy "Memron" (2004). He also was featured in the TV movie "They Shoot Divas, Don't They?" (2002-03). He also lent his distinctive voice to "American Dad" (2004-). Lehr also appeared in "Quick Draw."
