Biography

Film audiences may recognize John Sharian for playing the slightly deformed coworker of Christian Bale's character in the 2004 psychological thriller "The Machinist. " Although Sharian is most often associated with that role, he's had a long acting career that includes parts in several notable films and television shows. Sharian's film career began in 1994, when he landed the lead in the action/horror flick "Death Machine." By the late '90s, however, he started appearing almost exclusively in science fiction films, including "The Fifth Element," "Lost in Space," and "Fortress 2: Re-Entry." In 1998 Sharian played a corporal in Steven Spielberg's World War II epic, "Saving Private Ryan," a film that won five Academy Awards. In the early 2000s Sharian started lending his voice to video games and provided the voice of a circus man in the 2000 British stop-animation movie "Chicken Run." In 2007 he landed a recurring role as prisoner Joe LeBrock on the crime procedural "CSI: Miami."
