Josh Segarra’s mother not happy with his silly Sirens character

Actor Josh Segarra has upset his mother by portraying “an airhead” on his new TV comedy Sirens, revealing she is embarrassed by his silly character. The 28 year old confesses his Puerto Rican mum is constantly urging him to ask show writers to pen “smart jokes” for his cop character Bill Cepeda so she can boast about her son, the TV star.
He tells Fox News Latino, “I love playing the character. He’s been described to me as an airhead… I see him – he’s curious. He’s heartfelt. He wants to know more.
“(But) my momma, she doesn’t like it – well, she likes it, but she’s my mom. She can’t separate me from Billy. She sees her baby, she sees Joshuita. She’s always like ‘Ay papi, you have to sound smarter on the TV because you sound stupid and then my friends at work, they are making fun of you, saying, ‘Your son is stupid,’ but I know you’re not.'”
