Judy Collins assures Joni Mitchell fans the folk icon is ‘coming back’ after aneurysm

Singer Judy Collins has assured fans of her pal Joni Mitchell the folk icon is on her way back after suffering a brain aneurysm.
The Big Yellow Taxi star has rarely been seen in public since she was found unconscious in her Los Angeles home in March, 2015, but Collins, who befriended the singer after recording a hit version of her song Both Sides Now, insists Joni is slowly but surely “coming back”.
“I think she’s doing better and better,” she tells WENN. “Clive Davis invited me, last year, to sing at the Grammys party in California, to sing Both Sides Now and he said, ‘I can get Joni out of the house and she’ll come in a wheelchair if you sing that song’. So I did that and she came.
“I’m always sending her cards and letters. I can see what’s going on with Joni that slowly but surely she’s coming back.”
Joni’s upcoming 75th birthday will be marked by a two-day tribute in Los Angeles, featuring Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, Diana Krall, Kris Kristofferson, Los Lobos, Graham Nash, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, and James Taylor.
The stars will perform songs from all the stages of Mitchell’s career.
The two-night event will be staged at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on 6 and 7 November (18).
