Biography

Jules Cowles was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Cowles began his acting career with roles in such films as the comedic adaptation "Seven Chances" (1925) with Buster Keaton, the adventure "The Lost World" (1925) with Bessie Love and the Lillian Gish drama "The Scarlet Letter" (1926). He continued to act in productions like "His First Command" (1929), "The Leatherneck" (1929) and "The Fighting Parson" (1933). He also appeared in "The Pursuit of Happiness" (1934) with Francis Lederer, "Barbary Coast" (1935) with Miriam Hopkins and "Law Beyond the Range" (1935). Cowles more recently acted in the comedic drama "Mississippi" (1935) with Bing Crosby. Cowles passed away in May 1943 at the age of 66.
