Justin Bieber gained worldwide fame and popularity once he was discovered on YouTube in 2008 and quickly became a teen idol. Never lacking in fans, money, or media attention, the heartthrob seems to be living the dream, but in reality it’s taking a drastic toll on his personal life (and I’m not just talking about the paternity suit).
Fame comes with a price and in this case it’s in the form of female jealousy. According to TMZ, a 14-year-old developmentally disabled girl was recently investigated by the LAPD after it was discovered she threatened to kill Biber’s ex-girlfriend, Caitlin Beadles, and skin her alive. Going under the internet alias KILLSGANDCB – which stands for Kill Selena Gomez And Caitlin Beadles – the teen wrote on Tumblr that Caitlin wouldn’t know what was coming until she “wakes up on the other side of her bed with a knife.” The LAPD detectives contacted the girl’s mother, who is now monitoring her internet activities very closely (let’s hope).
This is a prime example of how fan adoration can quickly escalate to an unhealthy obsession. It’s something every Hollywood star is at risk of facing, but Bieber fans in general seem excessively aggressive. There’s just something about this kid that make girls go crazy (literally) for him. Even his current girlfriend, Selena Gomez, received Twitter death threats from jealous fans earlier this year after photos surfaced of the couple kissing. That’s enough for any girl to reconsider her options and perhaps even second guess if the relationship is worth the risk.
So the question remain: is Justin Bieber too dangerous to date? It certainly appears to be the case due to the intense backlash that seems to come with it. Never underestimate the power of a jealous teenage girl.
