Justin Timberlake has fuelled the excitement surrounding his highly-anticipated collaboration with Lizzo, insisting their work together is “flames”.
The 38-year-old singer opened up about working with the Truth Hurts star in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, telling the outlet that he’s been a big fan of hers for some time.
Of meeting Lizzo at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony, Justin said: “I was like, ‘I’m such a fan if you ever want to write,’ and she thought I was lying. And we got in and we got a couple of ideas – I don’t know when they’re gonna come out but they’re pretty good.”
While he refused to reveal too many details about the pair’s collaboration, Justin did tease “it’s flames, it’s so good.”
The former *NSYNC star added his decision to work with Lizzo is part of his aim to work with the music industry’s hottest up and coming talents. “To be honest, I just called my publishers and I said, ‘You know, I just want to work with young, fresh people and I want to collaborate more,'” he remembered. “I’ve been songwriting and producing for so long, I want to experience that energy and I want to work with people that I think are truly amazing. I’m having these experiences that are fueling me in such a different way and, again, I think it was really birthed out of feeling like, ‘What can I do right now to just be a part of my community and integrate?’”
Other stars he has teamed up with include Meek Mill and SZA.
