Kacey Musgraves and Lil Nas X have scooped early prizes at the 2019 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.

In a segment on Good Morning America on Wednesday (November 13, 2019), Kacey’s clip for her hit Rainbow was named Music Video of the Year, while Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’ record-breaking remix of Old Town Road was named Musical Event of the Year.

Rainbow is taken from the singer’s album Golden Hour, which scooped the Album of the Year gong at the 2018 prize-giving. Meanwhile, Old Town Road is one of the biggest hits of the year, securing the record for the longest-running Billboard Hot 100 number one, with a staggering 19 weeks.

Kacey’s tune is also nominated for the Song of the Year award, while she is up for the Female Vocalist of the Year prize.

The 2019 CMA Awards take place on Wednesday night and air live on ABC. Carrie Underwood is hosting, along with guest hosts Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
