Tony Award winner Karen Olivo and Aaron Tveit will lead the cast of Moulin Rouge! The Musical for the stageshow’s pre-Broadway run in Boston, Massachusetts.
The production, based on Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 movie and directed by Alex Timbers, will open at the Emerson Colonial Theatre, at the end of June (18), and run through the summer.
Next to Normal star Tveit will take on the role of Christian, played by Ewan McGregor in the Luhrmann film, and Olivo, who won a Tony Award for her performance as Anita in Broadway’s 2009 West Side Story revival, will tackle Nicole Kidman’s character Satine.
The supporting cast will include Danny Burstein as Harold Zidler and Sahr Ngaujah as artist Toulouse-Lautrec.
