Kate Voegele has enjoyed the kind of sudden success most artists can only dream about. In just over a year, she went from being an unknown musician to having hit records and a role on a popular television show. In 2006, on the strength of demos recorded a few years earlier, she signed a record contract with Myspace Records. Her debut album charted respectably, and she followed it up in 2009 with a second collection of melodic pop songs, "A Fine Mess", this one released on Interscope. Her second album did even better, debuting on the Billboard 200 chart at number 10, raising her public profile even further. Halfway through the tour in support of that album, she was offered yet another new opportunity, her first acting role. On CW Television Network's "One Tree Hill", a young adult-oriented drama that revolves around two half-brothers in a fictional North Carolina town, Voegele played Mia Catalano--a keyboardist and a singer with a band. For her, the role was ideal, allowing her to write and perform her own music for the show. In October of 2010, she also guest-starred in the role of Catalano on the teenage drama "Life Unexpected" in a crossover episode of that show and "One Tree Hill".
