Without a job recommendation and her own pluck, Katie McGrath might still be figuring out her career path. The Dublin native graduated from Ireland's Trinity College with a history degree, but an interest in fashion journalism took her to "Image" magazine. After that job fizzled, a family friend got McGrath--who by her own admission couldn't even take up a hem--a job as a wardrobe assistant on the period drama "The Tudors." As McGrath toiled away, she observed the actors working around her and thought she could do the same. The show's producers granted her request for screen time in 2008, resulting in a love scene with series star Jonathan Rhys Meyers. McGrath then found representation by securing a list of the cast's agents from one of the show's drivers. That same year, she landed her breakthrough role, one that led to worldwide exposure: beautiful and headstrong Morgana on the BBC fantasy coming-of-age tale "Merlin."
