Kevin Connolly and actress girlfriend split – report

Actor/director Kevin Connolly and his girlfriend Sabina Gadecki have split.
Connolly, 43, and 33-year-old actress Gadecki met on the set of the Entourage movie and had been dating for over a year, according to Us Weekly.
“They were better off as friends,” a source tells the publication. “They tried to make it more and it just didn’t work.”
The pair went public with their relationship at the Los Angeles premiere of Entourage in June, 2015, with Connolly telling E! News that the couple are “an item”, adding, “it sounds weird saying that!”
Gadecki was more coy when asked about the romance, only saying to E! that Connolly is “a great person – what’s not to love?”
Connolly’s people have yet to comment on the break-up story, while Gadecki’s representative tells Us, “We don’t comment on our client’s personal lives.”
Before Gadecki, Connolly dated socialite-turned-actress Lydia Hearst, who married comedian and TV personality Chris Hardwick in August (16).
During an interview with America’s Glamour magazine back in 2014, Connolly admitted that he never knew just “how difficult” relationships can be, also bemoaning “how much work they take”, adding: “You have to want to be in one”.
Asked what he knows for sure about love and relationships, Connolly replied: “That the real ones don’t come around very often. When they do, you gotta make a serious run at it.”
Connolly is currently directing The Life and Death of John Gotti, starring John Travolta and Kelly Preston. While he has helmed episodes of television shows Unhappily Ever After, Entourage and The Unknown in the past, the film is a big step up for Connolly as a director. While filming has wrapped on the mob movie, Connolly will continue working on the project for the next few months, and won’t resume his acting career until next year (17).
