Killer Mike and T.I. tapped for Atlanta Mayor’s transition team

Rappers Killer Mike and T.I. have been recruited as part of the transition team for Georgia’s newly-elected Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Bottoms.
The two politically-active hip-hop stars were among the many Atlanta residents who voiced their support for Bottoms in the lead up to the December (17) election, and now they have been invited to help the city leader implement the policies she promoted during her campaign.
“I am grateful to announce this 38-strong transition team,” Mayor Bottoms announced during a recent press conference. “It represents a tremendous amount of diversity and depth, and really the best and the brightest in the city of Atlanta.”
Run the Jewels star Killer Mike shared his excitement about his new role via Instagram over the weekend (13-14Jan18), writing: “Remember all those ‘ig (Instagram) haters saying what they wish rappers and athletes wud (sic) do with their time, Money and resources’,” he wrote. “Well now that it’s happening u can STFU (shut the f**k up) complaining and get active locally to help me, (T.I.) & our New Mayor Make Atlanta a city where all it’s citizens can do the same no matter fame or status (sic).”
Other members of the transition team also include UPS boss David Abney and Delta Airlines chief Edward Bastian.
