Canadian heartthrob and actor Kyle Schmid is best known for his leading role in the fantasy crime series "Blood Ties". Putting his youthful good looks to work, Schmid began his career as a model for print advertising, soon moving on to commercials and bit parts as teenagers in films and television shows. After a minor role in the Vin Diesel-starring family comedy "The Pacifier", he found a more substantial part in the dark, graphic-novel adaptation "A History of Violence". Schmid landed a recurring role on the family drama series "Beautiful People", and took a step up the credits list for the odd teen-sex comedy "Zerophilia", about a boy who discovers he can change sex at will. His roles then took an eerie turn, first with a supporting part in the supernatural thriller "The Covenant", and then as an ancient vampire (whose powers naturally keep him young and handsome), one of three main characters in the detective horror series "Blood Ties".
