As if all things Lady Gaga weren’t crazy enough already, someone sold one of her fake acrylic nails at auction for $12,000. The nail was found by a crew member after a Mother Monster concert. According to the “unique memorabilia” auction listing on, it was designed by Japanese nail artist Aya Fukuda.

To make the nail more enticing at auction, the seller added a staff handbook, event t-shirt, and crew wristband from the show at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, in September 2012. A photograph was also included with the nail to prove it was indeed missing from Gaga’s hand. A letter from the consignor was included as well and described how he came across the valuable claw. “I noticed an object on the floor of the stage, which at first I thought was a guitar plectrum,” it says. “When I picked it up, I saw it was an acrylic nail.”

There’s no word on what the new owner of the nail plans to do with it. Maybe it will go on display, maybe it will go on a finger. Maybe it will be used as some kind of elaborate toothpick. With these little monsters, you just never know.
