Say it ain’t so! Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney, the couple that made us believe love is possible in the soul-sucking trenches of Hollywood, have ended their engagement.
According to a source that spoke to TMZ, the couple broke up earlier this month. It’s unclear who pulled the plug on the relationship, but Gaga was recently spotted in Cabo without her massive, 6-carat engagement ring.
While none of us really saw this coming, in retrospect, we notice the couple had been spending time apart. Kinney spent his 35th birthday without the singer, and on that same day, she was spotted without her engagement ring. That’s a big red flag if we’ve ever seen one.
This is all so tragic, especially when you think about how sweet the story of their engagement was. According to The Daily Mail, Kinney originally proposed to Gaga with a Ring Pop, and she immediately said yes. She said, “I said, ‘Yes!’ right away and then he pulled out the heart-shaped diamond. First it was candy. I was happy with the candy.”
That’s so adorable. Of course a gigantic, heart-shaped diamond wasn’t bad either, but the couple was so in love, the jewelry wasn’t even necessary.
We’re hoping Gaga and Kinney manage to work it out!
