Sometimes things really are just a bad romance, and it’s best to cut your losses.
Earlier this year, Lady Gaga broke off her engagement to Chicago Fire actor Taylor Kinney. This was a total shock to most of us who were still drooling over her giant, six carat, heart-shaped diamond ring. Unfortunately, sometimes things just don’t work out, and Mother Monster finally opened up about why that might be.
In an interview with CBS News on Sunday, the 30-year-old singer admitted that sometimes women just aren’t loved in the way they want to be.
“I think women love very hard. We love men. We just love with everything we have,” she said. “And sometimes, I don’t know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with. You know, we’re not trying to make you less of a man. We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you.”
Earlier this year, the singer assured us that despite breaking it off, Kinney was still her soulmate. She took to Instagram to confirm what seemed like a temporary — and we emphasize temporary — split.
“Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break,” she wrote.
Unfortunately, based on what Gaga just told CBS, it doesn’t seem like the pair are getting back together anytime soon. In fact, it seems like the “Perfect Illusion” singer feels completely unappreciated.
Gaga, you do you. You deserve a man who appreciates you as much as you appreciate him. If that’s not Kinney, well, then you can do better.
