Lalla Ward and Richard Dawkins separate

Doctor Who actress Lalla Ward has separated from famed British academic Richard Dawkins after 24 years of marriage.
The estranged couple, which has no children, issued a statement to confirm they separating and intend to remain friends. They are still thought to be living together at their $4 million (£3 million) home in Oxford, England.
“Our marriage, like everyone’s, is a private matter and we are not prepared to share any details. Suffice to say it is true that we recently separated entirely amicably,” they announced in British newspaper the Sunday Times.
“Obviously, this remains a difficult time, one which we simply will not discuss any further publicly. We would, however, like to stress that we shall always be friends and that we will, of course, continue to work together.”
Ward, who played companion Romana (the second incarnation) alongside Tom Baker’s Doctor Who from 1979 to 1981, married the renowned atheist, biologist and author in 1992, months after meeting at a party that year.
Ward was previously married to her co-star Baker in 1980. She was Dawkins’ third wife following Marian Stamp and Eve Barham, with whom he shares a daughter named Juliet.
Dawkins suffered a stroke while at home in February (16), forcing him to cancel a tour in Australia.
