Biography

Lamman Rucker is best known for his work with creative force Tyler Perry. Following an appearance on Perry's TV show "House of Payne," Rucker was cast in the key role of Sheriff Troy in the writer-director's hit comedy-drama "Why Did I Get Married?," which he reprised in the 2010 sequel "Why Did I Get Married Too?" In between those films, Rucker co-starred as Dr. Will Brown in Perry's 2008 movie "Meet the Browns." When Perry adapted that film into a sitcom, Rucker's role as Will, the often-exasperated nephew of rambunctious lead character Leroy Brown (David Mann), was expanded into a major supporting part; the series ran for five seasons.
