Lance Gross detoxed after stressful TV murder role

Actor Lance Gross had to take some time to “detox” after portraying a violent pimp in real-life TV movie When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story.
The House of Payne star portrays gangster Dino, who manipulates teenage mother-turned-stripper Falicia Blakely, portrayed by rapper/actress Lil Mama, to engage in his life of crime.
Gross became so absorbed in the role of Dino, he found himself snapping at his wife for no reason after filming wrapped, and decided to take a step back to properly let go of the character.
“I needed to break out of the lane that I was in because I was so comfortable,” he told the New York Post’s Page Six column. “It was one of those roles that I may need therapy for… I had to detox and I had to pray a lot.
“I had a very small argument with my wife. I said something that Dino would say. It was not me. I was like, ‘Wait… let me chill out. This is not me!'”
The real Blakely was arrested in 2002 for the murders of three men over the course of two days in Atlanta, Georgia and she is currently serving life in prison without parole in Georgia.
When Love Kills: The Falicia Blakely Story debuts on the TV ONE network in the U.S. on 28 August (17).
