Lark Voorhies defends new husband over legal issues

Actress LARK VOORHIES has spoken out in defence of her new husband after he hit headlines for all the wrong reasons following their secret nuptials in April (15).
The Saved by the Bell star quietly married music producer Jimmy Green after meeting on Facebook.com just three months earlier, but their wedded bliss was disrupted in June (15) when it was revealed Voorhies’ new love is a wanted man in Arizona for an alleged bust-up with a store owner in 2012.
He was back in the spotlight days later after Voorhies’ mother, Tricia, was granted a temporary restraining order against her new son-in-law following a dispute at her home, but the actress now claims relations between Green and her mum are improving.
She tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight, “The support was there (from her mother). It’s all celebratory.”
She also claims Green’s love for her is genuine, saying, “He’s not (taking advantage of me). We’re selectively together for all the right reasons.”
The newlyweds are currently working together on Voorhies’ debut solo album, and Green adds, “We’re the same as any other couple out there that’s in love and trying to accomplish business together (sic). It’s not a scam or a way to get money.”
Green previously vowed to resolve his legal issues, as his wife’s representative declared, “We are obviously concerned about the allegations and we are looking into the matter. Lark feels these allegations are not true and would like this cleared up as soon as possible.”
