Late ’60 Minutes’ Correspondent Mike Wallace’s Bio Fast-Tracked

Mike WallaceThe unauthorized biography of late, great 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace, who passed away Sunday at the age of 93, is being rushed to bookshelves and will be available this Friday, April 13.

Mike Wallace: A Life, penned by screenwriter Peter Rader (Waterworld), was originally set for publication on April 24, but the book is being fast-tracked to capitalize on the sudden burst of interest in the life and times of Wallace.

Rader sums up Mike Wallace: A Life thusly: “The untold story of how the world’s most feared TV reporter transformed his inner darkness into a journalistic juggernaut that riveted millions and redefined the landscape of television news.”

The writer promises that his book will further explore the Wallace we saw in front of the camera as well as the one we didn’t see, or know, away from it — with insight on everything from his high-profile interviews to his battles with depression, attempted suicide and the 1962 death of his 19-year-old son during a mountain-climbing accident.
