Leah Remini warns Church of Scientology Danny Masterston rape charge is ‘just the beginning’

Leah Remini warned the church of Scientology that it’s “just the beginning” after Danny Masterson was charged with raping three women on Wednesday (June 17, 2020).

The That ’70s Show star was charged with “forcibly raping three women” over the space of two years, following allegations in 2017 from women – also Scientologists – who claimed they had reported the assaults to the Church.

Remini used the accounts of two of the women in her docuseries Scientology and the Aftermath, as she shared what she said was a pattern of crimes within the Church, after leaving the religion herself in 2013.

So after Masterson was charged, Remini was quick to take to Twitter to mark the news.
“Finally, victims are being heard when it comes to Scientology!” she wrote. “Praise the lord!”
Remini, who was a Scientologist from the age of nine until she left, went on to warn the Church: “This is just the beginning Scientology, your days of getting away with it is coming to an end!”

Meanwhile, Masterson’s lawyer Tom Mesereau issued a statement following the charges being issued on Wednesday (June 17, 2020), insisting the actor is “innocent” and they are planning to fight the claims.

“Mr. Masterson is innocent, and we’re confident that he will be exonerated when all the evidence finally comes to light and witnesses have the opportunity to testify,” he said in a statement.

“Obviously, Mr. Masterson and his wife are in complete shock considering that these nearly 20-year old allegations are suddenly resulting in charges being filed, but they and their family are comforted knowing that ultimately the truth will come out. The people who know Mr. Masterson know his character and know the allegations to be false.”
