Early in his acting career, Arena appeared in big screen comedies like "Back to Square Three" (1981) with Massimo Troisi and Fiorenza Marchegiani, "No Grazie, Il Caffe' Mi Rende Nervoso" (1982) with Lello Arena and Maddalena Crippa and "Scusate Il Ritardo" (1982) with Massimo Troisi and Giuliana DeSio. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Bertoldo, Bertoldino e Cacasenno" (1984) with Ugo Tognazzi, the crime flick "Il Coraggio di Parlare" (1987) with Gianluca Schiavoni and "Facciamo Paradiso" (1995). He also appeared in the Antonio Albanese dramatic adaptation "Tu Ridi" (1998), "Luisa San Felice" (2004) and "La scuola più bella del mondo" (2014).
