Lewis Capaldi finally reaches number one in the U.S. after 24 weeks

Scottish singer/songwriter Lewis Capaldi has finally made it to the top of America’s Billboard Hot 100 after 24 weeks on the countdown with Someone You Loved.

The ballad, which spent seven weeks at number one in the U.K. back in March (2019), has hit the number one spot, ending Lizzo’s record-tying reign at the top with Truth Hurts.

Capaldi becomes one of five acts, who has taken 24 weeks or more to reach the number one spot on the Hot 100. That list is led by Lonestar, who hit the top of the charts with Amazed 31 weeks after the track was released in 1999.

Truth Hurts drops to two, while Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s Senorita also falls a spot to three.

Post Malone’s Circles and Chris Brown’s No Guidance complete the new top five.
