It’s clear Hulk Hogan doesn’t mind being the center of attention, but he probably didn’t think that a recent Twitter post would earn him such harsh ridicule. On Sunday, Hulk tweeted a picture of his 25-year-old daughter, Brooke, in a mini-dress and directed fans to look at her “legs.” Well, this definitely caught the attention of his followers and users quickly started slamming him for posting the controversial pic, insisting that it was incestuous and calling him a “sick b*****d.” But despite the onslaught of hatred, Hogan’s ex-wife Linda affirms that he did nothing wrong.
“If people want to say what they want to say to him, then they can,” Linda tells Hollywood.com. “But don’t make him out to be a pedophile or anything because that’s just not fair.”
Linda believes that Hulk just took the picture because he’s proud of his daughter’s body. “It’s just a picture of how beautiful her legs are and really kind of a compliment to how hard she’s worked to get there,” Linda says. “As a parent, he’s extremely proud. Brooke [wasn’t always] an in-shape person. Now, [she’s] kickboxing and working out and training and dieting. She has done [a lot] to get her body to look as gorgeous as it does. I’m sure he was probably just glowing with pride. Just a dad going, ‘Wow. Look at my girl.’ And nothing more than that.”
But this isn’t the first time Hulk has been tied up in a controversial picture scandal involving his daughter. In 2008, he was criticized when a picture revealed him putting sunscreen on Brooke’s butt. Linda didn’t see anything wrong with that photo either. “The public just wants to sit there and make rash decisions about a photo that they have no idea about what really is going on or what kind of relationship they have,” she says. “We’re beach people. We live in Florida. Our kids are like water babies, every day with a bathing suit and the beach. We got to slather them with sunscreen from the time they were babies. When I saw that picture, it didn’t even affect me. It just looked like standard protocol because [he was] slathering the kids down with suntan oil. There was nothing there. He’s not that kind of person ever [to] look at my daughter that way or think of anything like that.”
Linda thinks that Brooke and Hulk’s relationship is not weird, and that Hulk’s most recent actions were innocent. “He should have taken more and showed her off,” she says. “She’s gorgeous. Her body has really honed down.”
“I may not like him as a husband, but as a father, he is the very best,” Linda says. “He loves his kids. And the kids absolutely adore him.”
Since Sunday, Brooke has taken to Twitter to defend her dad. “A dad can’t even be proud of his daughter without sickos makin it something it’s not. Really?? Go back to your farm animals. #ignorant” she wrote Monday.
