Biography

Lionel Belmore was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Belmore kickstarted his acting career in various films such as "Madame X" (1920), "Two Minutes to Go" (1921) and the Jackie Coogan drama "Oliver Twist" (1922). He also appeared in "Head Over Heels" (1922), "The World's Champion" (1922) and the western "Iron to Gold" (1922) with Dustin Farnum. His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "The Love Parade" (1929) with Maurice Chevalier, "The Boudoir Diplomat" (1930) and the adaptation "Love Comes Along" (1930) with Bebe Daniels. He also appeared in "Hell's Island" (1930). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the thriller "The Vampire Bat" (1933) with Lionel Atwill, the dramatic adaptation "Design For Living" (1933) with Gary Cooper and "The Warrior's Husband" (1933). He also appeared in "I Am Suzanne" (1933) and "Jane Eyre" (1934). Belmore last acted in the Edward Arnold dramatic biopic "The Toast of New York" (1937). Belmore passed away in January 1953 at the age of 85.
