The 2009-'10 cop drama "Dark Blue" is one of producer Jerry Bruckheimer's few TV series failures, marred additionally by claims that the premise was based without credit on the experiences of a real-life law enforcement officer. Starring Dylan McDermott as the leader of an undercover LAPD unit, it cast Logan Marshall-Green as Dean Bendis, the renegade of the police bunch. Bendis is a cop who, like Mel Gibson's character in the "Lethal Weapon" series, appears perpetually to teeter on the edge of a mental breakdown. The show, though it ran for only two seasons, continued a nice run for Marshall-Green that began with six episodes on "24" in '05. That same year, the actor also appeared as Trey Atwood on "The O.C.". Marshall-Green's first lead role came as one of two friends hunted by the FBI in the '07 syndicated offering "Traveler". He has played cops several other times, including in the '08 Brett Ratner-directed pilot, "Blue Blood".
