Mambo No.5 singer Lou Bega has assured fans he is alive and well after receiving “tons of condolences” following the news of Lou Reed’s death on Sunday (27Oct13). Bega claims a clueless European journalist mixed up the names and suggested that the one-hit wonder had passed away from liver failure.
Taking to his Facebook.com page on Monday (28Oct13), Bega wrote, “R.I.P Lou Reed the Genius who took Walks on the Wild side (sic). PS: I have been receiving tons of condolences because of a journalist confusing our identities.”
