Louis Gossett, Jr. to play Halle Berry’s dad in new TV sci-fi series

Movie veteran Louis Gossett, Jr. is to play Halle Berry’s dad in Steven Spielberg’s much-anticipated TV drama Extant. Berry will portray an astronaut trying to reconnect with her family after a year in space in the summer (14) series, and Gossett, Jr. will play her estranged father, a retired doctor.
Goran Visnjic, Grace Gummer and Camryn Manheim have also signed on to star in Extant, which will premiere in America in July (14).
