Louisa Moritz files defamation suit against Bill Cosby

Actress Louisa Moritz has become the latest of Bill Cosby’s alleged sexual assault victims to file a defamation lawsuit against the embattled comedian.
The One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest star went public with allegations against the funnyman in November, 2014, claiming he sexually abused her in a dressing room backstage at Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show in 1971.
His lawyer at the time Marty Singer responded to her accusation, saying, “We’ve reached a point of absurdity. The stories are getting more ridiculous.”
Moritz has now followed in the footsteps of a number of women, including model Janice Dickinson, and filed a lawsuit for defamation over the lawyer’s comment.
She also claims Singer brought up irrelevant information to smear her in her new career as a lawyer. She was disciplined and suspended from being allowed to practice law in June (15).
The former Cosby Show star has been accused of sexual abuse by more than 50 women, and several have launched civil action. He has not been charged with any offence.
