Lucas, Milk and Steel added to California Hall of Fame

The state’s Governor and his wife Maria Shriver chose the 13 inductees from a list of 20 candidates and presented the awards at a star-studded ceremony in Sacramento, California.

Milk, whose life was turned into an Oscar-winning 2008 biopic, was honoured for his contribution to the fight for gay rights, and his nephew, Stuart Milk, was on hand to pick up the prize.

Lucas and Steel were also inducted and will see profiles of their work go on display at The California Museum in Sacramento for the next year. Lucas’ exhibit includes models of his famous Star Wars robots R2-D2 and C-3PO.
