M. Night Shyamalan assistant pleads guilty to theft charge

A former assistant to director M. Night Shyamalan has pleaded guilty to using a company credit card to pay for $15,000 (£9,375)-worth of unauthorised goods. Selma Nolan was given the card in 2012 after she was hired as a house manager for The Sixth Sense filmmaker and his psychologist wife Bhanva at their property in Chester County, near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Shyamalans discovered she had used their funds, intended for house necessities, to make 195 personal purchases and she left her post last year (13).
Nolan, 34, appeared in court on Monday (08Dec14) and confessed to one count of theft.
She now faces up to seven years behind bars for the third-degree felony. Sentencing is due to take place in February (15).
