Mack David, a talented musician, produced music for many Hollywood productions. He followed this honor with songs in "The Trouble With Harry" (1955) with Edmund Gwenn, the comedy adaptation "The Birds and the Bees" (1956) with George Gobel and "The Mountain" (1956) with Spencer Tracy. He also appeared in the Charlton Heston western "Three Violent People" (1957) and the Cornel Wilde adventure "Omar Khayyam" (1957). He was nominated for an Academy Award for "Cinderella" in 1950. . David was nominated for a Music (Song) Academy Award for "The Hanging Tree" in 1959 as well as for a Music (Song) Academy Award for "Hush ... Hush, Sweet Charlotte" in 1964. David was nominated for an Academy Award for "Bachelor in Paradise" in 1961. He followed this honor with songs in the dramatic adaptation "Walk on the Wild Side" (1962) with Laurence Harvey, the Robert Mitchum dramatic adaptation "Rampage" (1963) and the comedy "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" (1963) with Spencer Tracy. David's music was also featured in the Peter Falk comedy "Cookie" (1989), "He Said, She Said" (1991) and the Warren Beatty dramatic biopic "Bugsy" (1991). His music was also featured in the action film "Natural Born Killers" (1994) with Woody Harrelson and "Larger Than Life" (1996). David's music was most recently used in the dramatic period piece "Saving Mr. Banks" (2013) with Emma Thompson. David passed away in December 1993 at the age of 81.
