The actor played Kristin Davis’ onscreen husband in the saucy series, and insists he’d happily reprise his character for the upcoming follow-up to the 2008 big screen adaptation.
But he fears filmmakers won’t cast him because he’s now a regular in TV sitcom Desperate Housewives, which began in 2004 – the same year Sex And The City went off the air.
He says, “They haven’t really called me yet. I think part of it is a conflict of interest because I’m on Desperate Housewives now, so they’re like, ‘Well, maybe not.’
“I would love to go back just for a cameo. I thought (Davis and I) were (a good couple) but I actually really liked the relationship with the woman who played my mom, Frances Sternhagen, as Bunny. Some of the sequences with me in the tub and her talking to me while sitting on the toilet – I couldn’t believe they actually wrote it but it was classic.”
