We know her as the naive secretary turned advertising ingénue on Mad Men, and while her character hasn’t always been known for her coy behavior, her wardrobe certainly screams proper 60s lady. But the actress behind our beloved Peggy, Elisabeth Moss, isn’t interested in sticking to pencil skirts and slick bouffants. She’s showing off her sexy side for Page Six Magazine.
Moss gets a little racy in nothing but a trench coat and black bra, but she’s very nonchalant about the photo that may surprise some fans. “People will be surprised. I don’t walk around in a Burberry trench coat and bra all the time, but it’s fun to embrace that part of yourself. I think every woman has a sexy, adventurous side,” she said.
While our little Peggy is out having a great time, don’t worry too much. She hasn’t forgotten the core of her Mad Men character – a woman who’s become a quasi feminist hero for many fans. Besides, as Moss sees it, the modern professional woman is all about balancing her two sides: the talented and the sexy. “As women in the workplace, we’re constantly trying to find a balance between being taken seriously and feeling sexy and good about ourselves…if you believe your ideas should be respected and if you believe you have a voice, then you’re a feminist,” she said.
